C+S Planning’s “Salmo Valley Child Care Inventory and Action Plan” was awarded the 2021 PIBC Gold Award for Excellence in Policy Planning - Small Town and Rural Areas.
Working in partnership with local governments and community advocates, we reviewed the quality, affordability and accessibility of child care for North Island College and the Salmo Valley, Sunshine Coast, and Comox Valley regions of British Columbia.
Our work provided a clear picture of the experience for families, guardians and child care providers, and made practical recommendations that could be implemented in two, five and 10 year time frames.
These projects wer part of the larger provincial mandate to understand the demand and need for $10/day child care.
